Geolay 609 Geotextile Fabric
Geolay 609 is our general purpose specification grade geotextile fabric for a wide range of industry applications. It conforms to D.O.T. Highway specification clause 609 and provides a strong yet economical separation fabric.
Manufacture
Geolay 609 Geotextile Membranes are manufactured from extruded polypropylene tapes which are resistant to all naturally occurring soil acids and alkalis and unaffected by bacteria or fungi.
Applications
Road Construction ..... Site Preparation ..... Car Parks ..... Access Roads ..... Landscaped Areas ..... Pathways ..... Land Drains..... Sports Centres.
GeoLay geotextile membranes are manufactured from extruded polypropylene tapes which are resistant to all naturally occurring soil acids and alkalis and unaffected by bacteria or fungi. They will not absorb any appreciable amount of moisture which makes them ideal in soil or drainage applications. The use of fabric dramatically reduces construction costs and GEOLAY Fabrics will retain their high strength and properties over many years.

Effect of Sunlight - Exposure to strong sunlight over a period of months will result in a gradual loss of strength in black coloured Geolay fabrics. It is advisable not to remove the wrapping until the fabric is required for use.
Effect of Temperature - Fabric strength is unaffected between a temperature of -25ºC/+100ºC.

The above table is only intended to indicate which ‘Geolay’ or ‘Autoway’ grade we would recommend as an alternative where, for example, Terram 1000 or equivalent is specified. We stress that ‘Geolay’ and ‘Autoway’ are alternative fabrics with their own individual characteristics and should not be offered as an exact equivalent to any other. In the event of any query please refer to ‘Geolay’ or ‘Autoway’ mechanical properties charts or contact our sales staff. |
