Ductile Iron Covers for Britain's premier jumps track, Cheltenham Racecourse!
16th June 2011
Point-to-point at Trebudannon Down
As a company staffed with horseracing enthusiasts MHC Ltd was extremely pleased to supply Britain's premier jumps track, Cheltenham Racecourse.
Contractor grimshaw Kinnear Limited provide regular maintenance works at the Gloucestershire track, famous for holding the Cheltenham Festival in March, a meeting that features famous races such as, and amongst others, the Champion Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Soon to be announced is the latest acquisition to the MHC string of racehorses, but we’re keeping it under wraps at the moment. As the covers ordered by Grimshaw’s were D400 loading ductile iron (one a massive 1200x1200mm) we can’t imagine these being used anywhere bar the car park or access areas, but perhaps Kevin (his extremely posh stable name, but not racing name!) may even cross one of them on his way to the saddling enclosures, hopefully on his way to winning the Cheltenham gold Cup.
‘Kevin’ stands a strapping 17.3 hands high – about as big as you get for a thoroughbred – he’s been kept under wraps on the point-to-point circuit so far and the 2011-12 season will see him tackling novice chases before graduating on to better things.
